What Affects Warranty Coverage
- Installation must follow the current Trex installation guide for the specific product and collection
- Joist spacing must match the manufacturer requirement — typically 16" on center for perpendicular installation
- Approved fasteners and hidden fastener systems must be used per the installation guide
- Proper gapping must be maintained for thermal expansion and contraction
- Adequate ventilation must be provided beneath the deck
- Products must be registered with Trex within the required timeframe
- Warranty applies to the original purchaser at the original installation address
Workmanship Warranty
In addition to the manufacturer warranty on Trex products, Connecticut Deck provides a workmanship warranty on installation. This covers the labor and installation quality of your deck project — separate from the material warranty provided by Trex.
The specific terms of the workmanship warranty are included in your project proposal and contract. Coverage period, scope and limitations are defined at the time of contracting.
Warranty Registration & Claims
After your Trex deck is installed, we assist with product registration to activate the manufacturer warranty. If you need to make a warranty claim, contact us with photos and a description of the issue. We coordinate with Trex on your behalf for manufacturer warranty claims and handle workmanship warranty claims directly.
